IN THIS CHAPTER
Read at your own pace. Take the ideas that fit your trip, and leave room for your own route.
Mountains, without the guesswork
Zelengora's lakes and the highlands around Bjelašnica offer very different starting points for a walking trip. Distance alone does not describe a hike: climbs, terrain, exposure and weather all change the day. Tell us what you have enjoyed before and what would feel like too much.
A day on the river
Rafting on the upper Neretva is associated with the canyon upstream of Konjic. The Una and Tara offer other river landscapes, but they are not interchangeable routes or experiences. Choose the region first, then consider the precise outing, water conditions and needs of the group. No river trip should be described as suitable for everyone.
Make room for something quieter
An adventure trip can include a short walk, a lakeside pause or an afternoon in town. Mixed-interest groups often need a better balance, not a more ambitious schedule. Add culture, food or an easy-going day to your enquiry if that is part of the trip you want.
The useful details
Share your travel month, number of nights, group size and preferred activity level. If children are travelling, include their ages. You can also mention walking-distance preferences or practical access needs, without sharing sensitive medical information in the initial form. Availability, equipment, transport and activity conditions need to be agreed for the actual trip, not assumed from an inspiration page.
